Abstract

Essential Midwifery Care is midwifery care provided to clients of newborns, infants, toddlers and premature children, during pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and family planning services (Ministry of Health, 2020). The maternal mortality rate in the world according to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2022 will reach 91.46/100,000 live births or as many as 830 pregnant women die every day (WHO, 2022), in ASEAN the number of MMR is recorded at 132.8/100,000 live births and This figure is lower than the number of maternal deaths in the previous year (ASEAN Secretariat. 2022). In Indonesia, MMR cases in 2022 are 230/100,000 live births, this figure has decreased from mortality data in the previous year which reached 303/100,000 live births in 2021 (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022).


This case study aims to carry out essential midwifery maintenance for Mrs. M G1P0A0 gestation age 21 weeks 4 days through a midwifery management approach and according to the midwife's authority. The methods used in this final assignment report are: Case Study and Literature Study. What was done in the case study was that the researcher used relevant literature by providing midwifery care from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn and family planning according to standards. Then, in a case study, to obtain accurate data, the author uses anamnesis techniques, physical examination, psychosocial assessment, documentation study, and discussion.


The results of Mrs. research. M gestation age 21 weeks 4 days complaints of low back pain, LILA 26 cm, height 157 cm, weight gain during pregnancy 6 kg, BMI 24.7 kg/m2, normal pelvic impression. Subjective Data Mrs. M in normal labor with a labor time of +4 hours, there is a grade II perineal laceration. At BBL, PB/BB: 50/3,170gr. In the postpartum period, the uterine involution is normal, the lochia is normal, the sutures are moist and there is redness. Mother decided to use IUD contraception. Based on this essential midwifery care, during the care, no emergencies were found during pregnancy until birth control and KF III and KF IV visits, there was a gap between theory and practice in the field. Researchers provide essential midwifery care from pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, postpartum and family planning to Mrs. M which starts at 12 weeks of gestation up to 6 weeks Post Partum until using family planning (KB)
