Abstract

Indicators to assess the extent of success in health development in an area are by looking at the indicators, maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR). In the city of Balikpapan, the MMR in 2021 will be 18 deaths and the IMR will be 93 deaths (Balikpapan City Health Service, 2022). The aim of this research is to improve the health of mothers and children by providing quality essential midwifery care, from pregnancy, childbirth, neonates, postpartum to contraceptive selection. The research method used is analytical descriptive observational. The case study approach to the implementation of midwifery care includes care for pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, postpartum and family planning (KB). The sample was a pregnant woman in the second trimester, G3P2A0, gestation age 16 weeks 2 days. Research time October 2023 – May 2024 in Balikpapan City. The research instrument uses SOAP documentation with a Varney management mindset. Data collection techniques use primary data through interviews, observations, physical examinations, KIA books. The results obtained by Mrs. R with a diagnosis of G3P2A0 gestational age of 16 weeks 2 days during pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, postpartum physiologically and the choice of 3 month injection contraception.
