Abstract

Background: Article 13 paragraph 3 of the Hospital Law emphasizes that every health worker in the Hospital must work in accordance with professional standards, hospital service standards, professional ethics, respect patient rights and prioritize patient safety. Adherence to service standards can reduce the incidence of adverse events. Anesthesiologists must work in accordance with professional standards and standard operating procedures in force.
Research Objectives: To determine the implementation of standard operating procedures by anesthesiologists during pre, intra and post-anesthesia and to find out the factors that affect the implementation of SOPs.
Research Method: Qualitative descriptive research design with a phenomenological approach. The location of the research is at the central surgical installation of Beriman Hospital, Balikpapan City. The subject of the study was an anesthesiologist who worked in IBS as many as 3 people. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews and then observational methods.
Research Results: In the pre-anesthesia period, the anesthesiologist carried out the task according to the SOP set, namely preparing the patient's mental and physical optimally, planning and selecting anesthesia techniques and drugs as needed. In the intra-anesthesia period, most anesthesiologists have carried out services according to SOPs, namely always in the operating room during the surgery and monitoring intra-anesthesia. However, in the post-anesthesia period, the anesthesia services provided were not in accordance with the SOP, namely the anesthesiologist did not measure blood pressure and did not assess the aldrete score and bromage score. The implementation of SOPs for anesthesia services is influenced by several factors, including: (1) educational factors, (2) management factors, (3) motivation, and (4) facility factors.
Conclusion: The implementation of anesthesia services by anesthesiologists in pre and intra anesthesia is quite good, but after anesthesia needs to be improved by paying attention to the educator factor
